Doodle artist: Who is Sam Cox?

The British artist, who gained worldwide fame with his black-and-white drawings that became his signature in his career, which he started in 2017, has finally transformed his own home.

Known as 'Mr Doodle', 28-year-old artist Sam Cox worked 16 hours a day, turning his million-pound detached mansion into a work of art with black and white drawings. The British artist, who gained worldwide fame with his black-and-white drawings that became his signature in his career, which he started in 2017, has finally transformed his own home.

Sam Cox, also known as Mr Doodle, was born in Kent, England in 1994. Starting his artistic career at the age of nine, he scribbled over any object he could get his hands on and covered his bedroom with paper doodles. He soon created a whole new visual phenomenon: his own iconic DoodleLand, manifesting his vision of the world, where dense clusters of characters, objects and patterns grow and multiply relentlessly.

Living work of art

Having spent 900 liters of emulsion, 401 cans of spray paint, 286 bottles of painting paint and 2,296 pens, Mr. Doodle worked in every corner of his house for two years, turning the mansion into a cartoon. Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, Cox said that the previous homeowners realized what was going to happen and asked to "Doodle" before selling the house, but he didn't mind. The artist stated that each of the drawings he made for the rooms had a theme, for example, he chose the theme of "sea" for the bathroom, and he painted a dream he had in the bedroom. Stating that these first two legs took two months to complete, Cox emphasizes that Doodle House is the longest-term project he has ever done for a period of 2 years. Mr. Doodle considers his black and white furnished house a living work of art.
