Generation to Generation: The Camper's Story

Some brands have good stories… Camper, which has given importance to its story, message and communication since the day it was founded, also has a pleasant formation story.

Camper was born in 1975 as the brand of an innovative family. However, to understand the importance he attached to the shoe industry, we have to go back 120 years: In 1877, Antonio Fluxa, a skilled cobbler, went to England to learn new methods of industrial production. On his return, he met the famous leather masters from the Inca and introduced them to the world's first shoe machines, which he had seen in England. Fluxa's innovative and entrepreneurial spirit has shaped the footwear industry.

Lorenzo Fluxa, son of Antonio Fluxa, was literally born in a shoe factory. His father conveyed to Lorenzo his interest and pleasure in shoes. Lorenzo showed his enthusiasm in this regard with his desire to produce quality shoes.

Spain of the 1970s

Historical and social changes in Spain in the mid-1970s also affected the way people lived. New styles, new concepts and a new spirit of adventure began to form in people. Taking advantage of these changes, Antonio Fluxa's grandson Lorenzo Fluxa founded Camper in 1975. Thus, a brand new brand was born that reflects the new lifestyle, supports free thinking, and attaches importance to comfort and creativity.

In 1981, the first Camper shop was opened in Barcelona. The brand, which has achieved rapid success since the first shop was opened, began to spread worldwide in 1992.

Continuing today, the fourth generation of Camper continues to grow in a healthy way, without spoiling its style as on the first day.

Camper's shoes are still designed and developed in Inca, in rural Mallorca. The young and creative team here works with artisans to create around 500 models each season.
