Ed and Lorraine Warren, the couple who inspired the horror movie series "The Conjuring", are known to the public as paranormal investigators, demonologists, or ghost hunters.
My interest in horror movies has been with me since a young age. This is, of course, because my mother loves these kinds of movies. Freddy Krueger, who exists in the dream world and can kill people in the real world through dreams, or A Nightmare On Elm Street, is one of the movies that I remember the most. Another is “Chucky,” the infamous serial killer who escaped death by performing a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul to a “good guys” doll. And of course his “bride”.
I remember being afraid of Freddy Krueger, But I have no such memories of Chucky. I just remember that for a while, my view of my dolls changed. Most of the time my mother didn't allow me to watch these, But somehow I found a way to watch. What I watched afterwards were mostly horror movies that made me laugh.
Edward Warren Miney (September 7, 1926 – August 23, 2006) and Lorraine Rita Warren (née Moran; January 31, 1927 – April 18, 2019) were American paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of alleged hauntings. Edward was a self-taught and self-professed demonologist, author, and lecturer. Lorraine professed to be clairvoyant and a light trance medium who worked closely with her husband.
"The Conjuring" series, which I watched after a long time, made horror movies attract my attention again with the warning "It is based on a true story" and the stories of the people in the story.
"The Conjuring" turned into a film series with many sequels and side stories. According to the information I later obtained, these films are among the popular works of horror cinema. The first and second films I watched starred Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. The series is based on real-life paranormal investigator couple Ed. and based on stories by Lorraine Warren.
Ed and Lorraine Warren are known to the public as “paranormal investigators,” “demonologists,” or “ghost hunters.” The last one is so cool because my dream job as a kid was ghost-hunting.
Ed and Lorraine Warren's areas of expertise are Evil spirits haunting people and homes, supernatural events occurring in homes, and of course the demon/devil.
The Warren couple, who founded the "New England Society for Psychic Research", the oldest ghost-hunting group in New England, in 1952, wrote many books about paranormal events and ghost hunting. They claimed to have investigated more than 10 thousand cases throughout their careers. The Warren couple, who were among the first ghost hunters, included people from different professional groups in their research. In addition to the church, the police were also involved in these investigations.
However, some critics have argued that many of these cases are not supernatural or have not been properly documented. Since there is no scientific evidence of paranormal events, the Warren couple's claims are obviously based largely on their personal beliefs or mental problems.
Ed Warren describes himself as a demonologist. Demonology is a field that deals with the study of demons, demons, and other spiritual beings and has no scientific basis. Lorraine Warren describes herself as a clairvoyant medium.
The couple placed the objects they collected in the cases they investigated and claimed to be magical, in "The Warren's Occult Museum", which they established behind their home in Monroe. However, experts argued that these objects were just antiques or interesting objects and directed the couple to claim that they were "charlatans".
