Ella is one of Kamala Harris' husband Douglas Emhoff's two children from his first marriage. Ella attracted a lot of attention with her Miu Miu outfit and "hipster" glasses at the 2021 inauguration ceremony where she appeared in public. The 22-year-old young woman is studying textiles.
It's only a matter of time before a brand new, very "hippie" page opens in the "Sons and Daughters of Presidents" collection in America. The leading name is Ella Emhoff.
Her first official meeting with the world public was the 2021 presidential inauguration ceremony, which she attended after her stepmother Kamala Harris was elected vice president. Her Miu Miu outfit and "hipster" glasses more than did justice to her profile as "22 years old, studying textiles at Parsons, living in Bushwick". A week after the ceremony, it was announced that she had started working with the modeling agency IMG. 'Modeling' was added to her identity as a textile student/designer.
Ella Rose Emhoff (born May 29, 1999) is an American artist and fashion designer. As the daughter of U.S. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, she is a member of the Second Family of the United States.
She worked her first shift at New York Fashion Week in 2021 and was on the runway at the Balenciaga Couture show the same year. Her lover Sam Hine, the senior fashion writer of GQ magazine, and Ella quickly transformed into one of those couples you see at every party, invitation, “brand activation”, and social media post, on the sidelines and in the corner. Their disproportionate and geometric haircut looks straight out of a Tim Burton movie, poses and outfits became the representatives of a generation/concept in 2020s New York.
Ella, who is only 25 years old, has a passion that she puts above everything else: Knitting. Grandma's knitting, which one generation found out of fashion at the time, is like many "grandfather's mind/grandmother's work" occupations/preoccupations by the new generation. But for Ella, it is "extremely cool", meditative, of course, "spiritual" and an "art" of self-expression that has not received the attention it deserves.
Her first exhibition opened last April in Gotham, one of the city’s legal cannabis stores. She wanted to hold her exhibition there because the founder was an entrepreneurial woman. Supporting women was at the forefront of her mission. Her own handmade works sold out immediately. The works she puts on her site are always met with enough interest to be “sold out” within a day.
Ella is still officially registered with IMG Models, one of the world’s largest modeling agencies, and is a “creative” who also actively models. She is a woman who is “cartooned” in an American series set in Brooklyn today, half bohemian, half hippie, and quite prone to being a “unique” side character. When Ella finds the opportunity to express herself without prejudice, she can change a lot with her depth, naturalness, and other aura.
