He has 30 years of experience in the luxury and retail industry. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions including CEO and brand president at footwear brand Stuart Weitzman (Tapestry Group) and CEO at Salvatore Ferragamo and Furla, where he led their global growth.
As a result of major changes in the management of the Italian Diesel brand, Eraldo Poletto was elected as the new global CEO in July 2022.
Not long after 6 months, in February 2023, Diesel announced that general manager Eraldo Poletto would leave his post. It was announced that Poletto "decided to return to the United States, where he had been residing with his family for several years, for personal reasons."
Poletto resigned as CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo in February 2018.
The decision was taken at a time when the company's financial situation was declining. The company's stocks on the Milan Stock Exchange had decreased by 14.5% in the last 12 months in February 2018.
Eraldo Poletto took his position at Ferragamo in August 2016, following the departure of Michele Nosra, who served in the same position for ten years. Poletto previously served as CEO of Furla and promoted the internationalization of the luxury brand.
In a surprise move, Poletto joined Diesel in Paris in December 2019 after two and a half years as Balmain CEO, replacing Massimo Piombini.
Poletto has held senior roles in the past, including CEO and brand president at Tapestry Group-owned footwear brand Stuart Weitzman and CEO at Salvatore Ferragamo and Furla. Within the scope of his duties, he contributed to the global growth of brands.
Diesel is the largest brand within OTB, which also controls Martin Margiela, Marni, and Viktor & Rolf.
