Hugh Jackman was born on October 12, 1968 in Sydney, Australia. He was the youngest of 5 children to his father, Chris Jackman, and his mother, Grace Watson. His parents divorced when Jackman was 8 years old. Jackman went to live with his father, a Cambridge University accountant, and his siblings. His relationship with his mother was never good after that date.
Attending Pymble Public School and then Knox Grammer School, Jackman studied at Sydney University of Technology. And in 1991 he graduated from the department of communication. It was by chance that he met acting. Acting was among the compulsory courses of the department. Jackman made a national tour of Australia with his show Broadway to Oz in November and December 2015. In 2015, Jackman announced that he would reprise the role of Logan in the 2017 sequel to The Wolverine. It earned him the Guinness World Record for "longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero". Private life
Jackman was raised as a Christian, participating in many reenactments throughout his childhood. He identified himself as a Christian in an interview in 2015. Jackman meditates every day. Jackman has been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation since the age of twenty. Jackman plays the guitar, piano and violin. Jackman played rugby and cricket in high school. He took part in the high jump and swimming team. Jackman, who enjoys basketball and canoeing, expressed his interest in football.
He married Deborra-Lee Furness, whom he met on the set of the Australian TV show Corelli. Furness had two miscarriages. Then she and Jackman adopted two children. Jackman and his family live in New York.
