Nabil Anani's development as an artist paralleled important events in recent Palestinian history.

He includes the common problems of Palestine and Palestinians in his works; He reflects on the subjects of exile, displacement, conflict, memory, and loss in his works with his own unique methods. Nabil Anani's artistic vision and the purpose of his entire production can perhaps be summarized in just one sentence: To keep the memory alive.
