The Pele of three-cushion billiards: Who is Raymond Ceulemans?

Ceulemans was nicknamed "Mr. one hundred." They call him that because he won 100 major tournaments years ago. He was knighted by the Belgian king in 2003. He is the living legend of the sport of billiards.

1986, 1987, 1990 world cup winner, 54 times Belgium, 33 times European, 33 times world champion.

Raymond, Knight Ceulemans (born 12 July 1937) is a Belgian billiards player who won 21 UMB three-cushion World Championship titles, more than any other player. Along with 48 European titles (23 in three-cushion) and 61 national titles. His nickname is "Mr 100". He was inducted into the Billiard Congress of America's Hall of Fame in 2001, one of the first non-Americans to receive the honour.

The world billiards legend 'Mr. Raymond Ceulemans, nicknamed 100', was born in the town of Lier and started playing billiards in his father's cafe when he was 7 years old. He loved football. He also played for the local team. K. Beerschot, one of the major league teams, wanted to take him for a year. But his club said, "You either get your testimonial or you don't get it at all."

Ceulemans said: “At that moment, I decided to quit football and just play pool. In the beginning, I could score three or four points in carrom (a simpler version of billiards than the three-cue game). Then my father went and complained to my mother, 'He's been playing properly for six months, but I can't beat this kid anymore."

He says his father is "not a very good billards' player". But not so with his two sons and two grandchildren. His grandson Peter Ceulemans is international. They have a team with the family and they are the champions of Belgium. Master said, “Now they put me on the bench. But I get more frustrated on the sidelines.”
