Who makes a Cameo?

What is called a cameo role? A cameo is the brief appearance of a well-known person in performing arts such as plays, movies, video games, and television.

Alfred Hitchcock was a pioneer in cameo roles in motion pictures. Quentin Tarantino, one of the recent directors, is also one of the directors whose name can be considered in cameo roles. One of the meanings of the word cameo in English is ornament.

Some directors also make short appearances in their own films. Frank Coraci made short appearances in the films Around the World in 80 Days and The Waterman, directed by him.

A cameo appearance, also called a cameo role and often shortened to just cameo, is a brief guest appearance of a well-known person or character in a work of the performing arts. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake) or renowned people making uncredited appearances. Short appearances by celebrities, film directors, politicians, athletes or musicians are common.

Night Shyamalan in the movie The Village, Alfred Hitchcock, Murder! appears in the movie. Also, sometimes the director's friends make brief appearances in the same director's films. Examples of this are Jason Lee and Kevin Smith. Jason Lee made cameo appearances in Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Additionally, Stan Lee, the father of many comic book heroes in Marvel, is seen in Marvel adaptation films (such as X-Men, Daredevil).
