Gwyneth Paltrow was born in 1972 in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is actress Blythe Danner and her father is producer and director Bruce Paltrow. Paltrow enrolled at the Spence School, a private girls' school in New York City. When She was 15, she stayed in Spain as an exchange student and learned to speak Spanish. The French-speaking artist later studied anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

She dropped out of college to pursue her dream of acting.
