Ryanair is a low-cost airline, founded in 1984 in Dublin, Ireland. The company, which operated 1800 daily flights to Africa, Europe and the Middle East before the Covid 19 pandemic, was flying to more than 360 destinations and 33 countries with 84 different base centres.
The top destinations were: Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, London, Paris, Rome, Brussels and Ibiza. As of 2016, it had 11,500 professional employees. The company, which performed 550 thousand flights in 2016, served 119 million passengers.
The company owns 10% of all Boeing 737 series active in the world market, which is a record for an airline.
While the company carried only 5000 passengers with 25 employees in 1985 when it was founded, these figures reached 120 million passengers and 11,500 employees.
Ryanair is the most popular low-cost airline with the most flights in Europe. Laudamotion, Buzz, Malta Air, Ryanir Sun are also subsidiaries of Ryan Air.

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, one of Europe's largest low-cost airlines, said that the era of cheap flights is over due to rising fuel prices.
Stating that Ryanair's average ticket prices will increase from 40 euros last year to 50 euros in the next five years, O'Leary stated that he believes that people will continue to fly frequently despite the increase in the cost of living:
“You won't be able to see one euro, 0.99 euro or even 9.99 euro promotional tickets for a few years. But people will continue to fly. Instead of giving up flights, they will turn to cheap options.”
Since the 90s, the cheapening of flights led more people to take short vacations in addition to their annual holidays, and millions of people began to prefer flights for their travels. There has been cheap flight competition between companies such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling and Wizz Air.
