Scorpions is a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. The lineup from 1978 to 1992 was the most successful incarnation of the group and included Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (rhythm guitar), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums). The band's only continuous member has been Schenker, although Meine has appeared on all of Scorpions' studio albums, while Jabs has been a consistent member since 1978, and bassist Paweł Mąciwoda and drummer Mikkey Dee have been in the band since 2003 and 2016 respectively.
The unforgettable band formed by the permanent trio released Sting in the Tail in 2010, saying it was their last album, and organized a farewell tour. He later gave up this idea and organized a 50th-anniversary world tour.
Group member Rudolf Schenker described the 50-year adventure and the strong bond between them as follows:
"Extraordinary! I wouldn't change any moment of 50 years. It was an amazing journey. One day in 2013, I found a photo album of my mother at home. In that album, there were photos from the concerts I gave with a few friends under the name Scorpions in 1965. Then I sent those photos to the group and we realized it would be Scorpions' 50th anniversary in 2015. We thought, "Who could survive for 50 years?" and this motivated us to continue. We have always believed in friendship and teamwork. Yes, we wrote good songs, but our friendship was most important. Because you experience many ups and downs in such long careers, there must be a close friendship between the band members to remain mentally healthy after these emotional fluctuations. “We had that.”
Even though they released their last album in 2015, Scorpions has endeared themselves to many audiences from 7 to 70; It will always continue to live in ears and hearts with its energy, art, and tasteful pieces!
