Peter Gene Hernandez, stage name Bruno Mars, was born on October 8, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother, Bernadette San Pedro Bayot, is Filipino, and his father, Peter Hernandez, is of half-Puerto Rican and half-Ashkenazi Jewish origin.

He is known for his stage performances, retro showmanship, and for performing in a wide range of musical styles, including pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, disco, and rock. Mars is accompanied by his band, the Hooligans, who play a variety of instruments, such as electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums, and horns, and also serve as backup singers and disco dancers. In 2021, he collaborated with Anderson .Paak, as the American musical superduo Silk Sonic.

Bruno Mars, one of six siblings, has four sisters and one brother. Musical talent runs in his family. Bruno Mars also studied dance. His mother is a dancer and his father is a percussionist. When he was only 4 years old, he performed with his family group 5 days a week. 

From an early age, he started singing songs by names such as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

His first musical experience as a singer was with Far East Movement's second studio album, "Animal". After the success of the song "Nothin' on You", released with BoB, Bruno Mars released an EP called "It's Better If You Don't Understand" on May 11, 2010. 

In 2011, Mars recorded the song "It Will Rain" for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and released it as a single. The song was a commercial success worldwide, peaking at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

He was nominated in 7 categories at the 53rd Grammy Music Awards in 2011. Bruno Mars could only win one of them.

He performed a duet with Eminem and Royce da 5'9″ in the song "Lighters" from Bad Meets Evil's new album. Mars also performed a duet with Lil Wayne on the song Mirror from Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV album.

Although he had 6 nominations at the 2012 Grammys, he did not win any of them.

In 2018, the famous American R&B singer Bruno Mars left his mark at the ceremony held at Madison Square Garden in New York for the first time in 15 years, winning awards in 6 categories.

Mars, who was deemed worthy of the "Album of the Year" award with his album "24K Magic" and the "Song of the Year" award with his song "That's What I Like", won 4 more awards.
