Her full name is Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, she was born on March 3, 1997 in Havana, Cuba. She was born to her father Alejandro Cabello and her mother Sinuhe Estrabao. Her father is Mexican and her mother is Cuban. Sofia Isöinde has a sister who was born in 2008. Cabello and her family alternated between Havana and Mexico City until they moved to Florida. Attending Miami Palmetto High School, Cabello dropped out in 9th grade to pursue her singing career. She was able to get her high school diploma later on.

Cabello auditioned for "The X Factor," a North Carolina television talent show, with the song "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. However, it could not be released because she could not get the rights to the song. After being eliminated from an episode of the competition, Cabello was called back on stage along with fellow contestants Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane to form the girl group later known as 'Fifth Harmony'. Finishing the show in third place, the group signed a joint deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.

The band released their first full-length play 'Better Together' (2013), along with their first studio album 'Reflection' (2015) and their second studio album '7/27' (2016). From 2013 to the end of 2016, she performed with the group Fifth Harmony on several tours. In November 2015, she collaborated on a duet called "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes. The song was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

On October 14, 2016, Cabello released the single "Bad Things" with American rapper Machine Gun Kelly. The single was a success, peaking at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. That same year, Time magazine included her in its "25 Most Influential Teens of 2016" list. In December 2016, the group Fifth Harmony reported that Cabello was leaving.

The song "Love Incredible", a collaboration with Norwegian DJ Cashmere Cat, was released on February 16, 2017. Later, Cabello appeared on Cashmere's debut studio album '9'(2017). She also recorded "Hey Ma" with rapper Pitbull and J Balvin for the soundtrack of "The Fate of the Furious" (2017). Additionally, she was featured in the song "Know No Better" with Major Lazer, Travis Scott, and Quavo.

In May 2017, Cabello announced the release of her first studio album, 'The Hurting'. Her first solo single, "Crying in the Club", was released on May 19, 2017. And Cabello gave a performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Also that year, she partnered with clothing brand Guess as the face of the Fall 2017 campaign.

Her single "Havana", a duet with Young Thug, reached number one in several countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Hungary and the United States. The single became the most streamed song to date by a solo female artist on Spotify in June 2018.

Her debut album, 'Camila', was a pop record containing Latin songs and ballads. The album was released on January 12, 2018 and managed to debut at number one in the United States. The album went platinum in the country. The songs "Real Friends" and "Never Be the Same" were released on the same day on December 7, 2017. The second song peaked at number 6 on the Hot 100. She later became the first artist to top the Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40 broadcast charts with two singles, "Havana" and "Never Be the Same". Additionally, she won an MTV Video Music Award for "Havana".

In April 2018, Cabello embarked on her first concert tour as a solo artist, the 'Never Be the Same Tour'. She appeared in the song "Sangria Wine", which she sang with She pharrell Williams. In May 2018, Cabello began performing as the opening act of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift on the Reputation Stadium Tour during the release of the Never Be the Same Tour. She led an arena for the first time on July 31, 2018, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville.

In December 2018, Cabello earned two Grammy nominations, Best Pop Solo Performance for a live version of "Havana" and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Camila." She became the first Latin female artist to open the show with her performance of "Havana".

On June 21, 2019, Cabello reunited with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes and released the song "Señorita" along with its music video. The single debuted at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. By August, the song had peaked at number one and became Cabello's second single to top the chart. The single reached #1 in over 30 countries and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

On September 1, 2019, Cabello announced a music video for the release of their second studio album, "Romance". Two days later, she released the album's first two singles, "Liar" and "Shameless", followed by "Cry for Me" and "Easy" in October 2019. The album was released on December 6, 2019, and the song "Living Proof" was released with pre-orders of the album on November 15, 2019. The album made its debut and reached number 3 on the charts and #1 in Canada. It also reached the top 10 in 12 countries. The song "My Oh My" featuring DaBaby entered the top 20 on the list and peaked at number 12.

On July 23, 2021, Cabello released "Don't Go Yet" as the lead single from her third studio album, "Familia". The album was named one of the most anticipated pop albums of 2022 by Forbes magazine. It was announced that Familia will be released on April 8, 2022 with 12 tracks. She also covered the song "Good 4 U" by Olivia Rodrigo. With this performance, she won the iHeartRadio Music Award for Best Cover Performance.

In the sequel to 2021, Cabello starred in the movie, a Cinderella adaptation, on September 3, 2021. The movie became the most watched movie musical ever in 2021. Cabello's performance was appreciated, although the film received mixed reviews from critics. In November 2021, Cabello released the song "I'll Be Home for Christmas" by Bing Crosby. The song reached #2 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 and became Cabello's 13th Top 40 hit in the UK.

Cabello has announced that their collaborative song "Bam Bam" with Ed Sheeran will arrive on March 4, 2022. Cabello and Sheeran performed "Bam Bam" live for the first time at the Concert for Ukraine event at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. The song managed to reach number 5 on the charts. It also managed to be Cabello's highest peak since the charts were created in 2020. The single earned a Grammy Award nomination.

On April 8, 2022, the album "Familia" was released. The album received positive reviews from critics. At the same time, the album debuted at number 10 on the charts of many countries, making it Cabello's third top ten album. On May 28, 2022, she performed the songs "Señorita", "Havana", "Bam Bam" and "Don't Go Yet" at the opening ceremony of the UEFA Champions League Final. Her performance became the most watched video on UEFA's channel.

In September 2022, Cabello published a collaboration with Camilo Echeverry. That same month, she left Epic Records and signed with Interscope Records, a record label. In December 2022, Cabello announced Oxlade's "KU LO SA" remix, their third non-album collaboration from 2022.

Personal life

Cabello had an affair with writer Matthew Hussey, whom she met on the set of The Today Show. The couple were lovers from February 2018 to June 2019. Cabello started a relationship with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes in July 2019. She was accused of trying to establish a promotional relationship on both sides, and the relationship caused controversy. Mendes denied this and the relationship was confirmed after the song "Señorita" was released. The couple announced their separation in November 2021. In August 2022, Cabello started dating Lox CEO Austin Kevitch, whom she met through a friend. However, in February 2023, it was announced that the duo broke up.

Cabello has generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. That's why she often does meditation, exercise, and yoga. She speaks 2 languages, English and Spanish. Valuing her family very much, Cabello dedicated her song "First Man" to her father. She cooks as a hidden talent.  She also likes to cook pasta. She has a fear of the open sea and sharks.
