How did music enter your life?
I started very young, I was born into a family of musicians, my father is a jazz musician who plays the piano, so the piano sound was never missing at home, and my mother was a singer and actress. At the age of 7, I signed up for Disney Spain and started going professional. I then went on to make many recordings for Disney.
How did you realize that music would be permanent in your life?
I started singing as a play when I was a kid. You can't choose your hair color when you're little. Music has always been inside me. I wasn't conscious at the time, it was a passion for me and over time I started to become a professional.
Which musicians have influenced you the most?
There are so many musicians that I am influenced by and fall in love with. Ella Fitzgerald, Jaco Pastorius, and Erykah Badu are at the top of this list.
How did you join the La Casa De Papel team as a musician?
10 years ago, I started working with Manel Santisteban, the great composer of songs in Spain, he came to listen to me at my jazz concert. He said he wanted to try some melodies and ideas in my voice. We started making songs with him for movies and TV shows. We took part in many movie soundtracks together. Something triggered that the movie 3 Metros Sobre El Cielo was a huge success. Then came La Casa De Papel.
Where did you get your inspiration for writing the song My Life Is Going On?
First of all, to make the song, the team told me the story and the characters. I even saw some episodes, pictures, and a demo of the first episode. Then when I saw Tokyo and her story, I was very impressed with her. But in general, I always take inspiration from myself and my experiences.
Why do you think La Casa De Papel attracted so much attention? What effect did the show have on your life?
I think it's hard to explain why it's such a huge phenomenon worldwide, everywhere! But the whole team worked hard with love and passion. For me, it was a dream come true, the possibility of being able to rest all over the world and at the same time have great success. I travel all over the world, doing what I love most. So this is both a dream and a reality, this is the best way to describe what it means to me.
