Murder Methods of Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper's methods were brutal. He neutralized his victims by strangling them first and then slitting their throats down to their ears. With minor changes, almost all of the victims had their stomachs pierced, their genitals mutilated, some organs stolen, and sometimes their noses and/or ears cut off. Jack was leaving his victims with their knees drawn to their stomachs and their legs spread out.

Jack the Ripper was an unidentified serial killer active in and around the impoverished Whitechapel district of London, England, in 1888. In both criminal case files and the contemporaneous journalistic accounts, the killer was called the Whitechapel Murderer and Leather Apron.

The murder case was closed two years after the murders. However, today's British detectives and scientists are still trying to illuminate the murders with the help of modern technology.

The only physical evidence extant is the scarf allegedly belonging to one of the victims.

The name Jack the Ripper was given to him after the letter he sent to the Police Station.

Letter from Jack the Ripper to the Police Station

“I keep hearing rumors that the police have caught me, but know that they won't be able to catch me for a long time.

I laugh a lot when they look so clever and say that they are on the right track and that they are about to catch me…

I'm after bitches and I'll keep ripping them off until I'm caught.

My last job was terrific. I didn't even give the bitch a chance to yell. How can they catch me now?

I love my job and want to start over.

Soon you will hear my funny tricks again… My blade is solid and sharp. If I get a chance, I want to start over. Good luck.

With all sincerity,

Jack the Ripper

The true identity of Jack the Ripper is unknown.

But; British DNA researcher Dr Jari Louhelainen concluded after examining the bloody shawl of one of the victims, Catherine Eddowes, that the murderer was Aaron Kosminski, a mentally ill barber of Polish origin. "My conclusion is beyond doubt," Jari told the Mail on Sunday.
