John Adam Belushi (January 24, 1949 – March 5, 1982) was an American comedian, actor, and musician. He was one of the seven original cast members of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL). Throughout his career, Belushi had a personal and artistic partnership with his fellow SNL star Dan Aykroyd, whom he met while they were both working at Chicago's Second City comedy club.

After he performed very well in the school's basketball team, his teachers asked him to direct his future career in this direction. His father suggested that he become a partner in the restaurant. But he chose acting after his graduation in 1967.

In 1971, he joined a group called The Second City in Chicago and performed comedy shows. The artist, whose characters he portrayed with his strong facial expressions are remembered by his audience, also showed a good acting performance in the movie 1941.

He died in 1982 in his bungalow in California due to an overdose of heroin and cocaine. Following his death, he was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004.

The cause of Belushi's death, who was visited by his friends Robert De Niro and Robin Williams on the night he died, was reported by pathologists as "an accident resulting from an overdose of heroin and cocaine."
