Leonard Simon Nimoy (b. March 26, 1931 - d. February 27, 2015) was an American actor, director, musician and photographer of Jewish origin. He became known for his role as Spock in the Star Trek series, which aired in the USA between 1966 and 1969.

He played a character named William Bell in the science fiction series Fringe.

Leonard Nimoy was born on March 26, 1931, in Massachusetts, USA. He is the son of a Jewish immigrant family who immigrated to the USA from today's Ukraine, within the borders of the Soviet Union. His father is Max and his mother is Dora Nimoy. He studied at Boston College. He graduated from Boston University in 1953.

Leonard Simon Nimoy (March 26, 1931 – February 27, 2015) was an American actor and director, famed for playing Spock in the Star Trek franchise for almost 50 years. This includes originating Spock in the original Star Trek series in 1966, then Star Trek: The Animated Series, the first six Star Trek films, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Nimoy also directed films, including Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), and Three Men and a Baby (1987), and appeared in several films, television shows, and voice acted in several video games. Outside of acting, Nimoy was a film director, photographer, author, singer, and songwriter.

In the first Star Trek series, shot between 1966 and 1969, Mr. He played the character Spock. In 2008, he played a character named William Bell in the science fiction series Fringe.

Leonard Nimoy died of chronic pulmonary obstructive disease on February 27, 2015, in Los Angeles at the age of 84.
