Moroccan-Swedish combination: Who is Loreen?
Loreen won first place at Eurovision in 2012 with the song 'Euphoria'. Loreen made history as one of the two singers who won Eurovision for the second time in 2023. The other singer who won Eurovision twice was Ireland's Jonny Logan.
With its 7th victory, Sweden is one of the two countries that have won Eurovision the most. Ireland has also won this competition 7 times.
Loreen, 40, was born in Sweden to immigrant parents of Moroccan-Berber origin.
Discography of Moroccan-Swedish singer and songwriter Loreen; It consists of a studio album, six singles, four duet singles, one promotional single, and four video clips. After completing her education in Västerås, the singer participated in the Swedish Idol competition held in 2004 and came in fourth.
Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui (born 16 October 1983), known professionally as Loreen, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Representing Sweden, she has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice – in 2012 and 2023 – with the songs "Euphoria" and "Tattoo". She is the second performer (after Johnny Logan) and the first and only woman to have won the competition twice to date.
Swedish singer Loreen, who became the champion in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with 'Euphoria', tried her luck once again in this important competition and brought another first place to her country, Sweden, this time with 'Tattoo' in 2023. Loreen, who has created a unique style in the European pop scene, from her vocal performance to her aura, from her dark and emotional side to her high dose of dance mode, is in the period of proving that she 'exists' outside of Eurovision.
She's not actually just about Eurovision
Although her previous effort to "I am not just about Eurovision", which was left unfinished after 'Euphoria', was somewhat unsuccessful, Loreen is determined not to make the same mistake this time. We can easily say that the last proof of this was the single 'Is It Love', which she released after 'Tattoo'.
The Oriental tone makes a difference
'Is It Love' reminds her of her Moroccan roots and thanks to its oriental tone, she scores a precise goal not only from the head but also from the heart. On the contrary, it is also met with interest in the westernmost part of Europe.
