The richest king in the world: Who is Maha Vajiralongkorn, the king of Thailand?
Would you like to get to know the King of Thailand, who appointed him "official lover" months after his marriage, and who left his country hit by the pandemic and locked himself in an ultra-luxury hotel in Germany with his harem?
Thailand's king, Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X.) spends his life in Bavaria. He runs his country from the magnificent villa he bought in Tutzing on the shores of Lake Starnberg in 2018!
The luxury Boeing 777 he named "Alongkorn", which he occasionally boarded on his way to visit his citizens in Thailand, cost him about half a billion dollars. The entire interior of the aircraft is teak veneer. His two dozen poodles are always with him on his journeys! There are various rumors about his assets. The king's bank account, which turned 71 on July 28, ranges from $30 billion to $100 billion! The crown that was put on his head when he took over the throne after his father weighed 7.3 kilograms. The king's birthday is a public holiday in Thailand.
Oppressive and wasteful
When he gets bored and goes for a stroll in his villa in Tutzing or goes swimming in the lake, at least thirty people accompany him. King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who is said to be an oppressive and extravagant type who always wants to be different from others, is claimed to be ruling Thailand from foreign lands, and from time to time they petition the German government to protest. Amnesty International and similar organizations explain in their reports that human rights are constantly violated in Thailand. 15 years in prison for insulting the monarchy. Villa Stolberg in Tutzing, with a living area of 1400 square meters, was built in 1926. Parties in the Starnberg city council are demanding that the king's villa, which is on the list of "protected historical houses", should be considered a "second residence" and pay taxes. However, all these exits are always hidden!
Vajiralongkorn (born 28 July 1952) is King of Thailand. He is the only son of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. In 1972, at the age of 20, he was made crown prince by his father. After his father's death on 13 October 2016, he was expected to ascend to the throne of Thailand but asked for time to mourn before taking the throne. He accepted the throne on the night of 1 December 2016. His coronation took place from 4–6 May 2019. The Thai government retroactively declared his reign to have begun on 13 October 2016, upon his father's death. As the tenth monarch of the Chakri dynasty, he is also styled as Rama X. Aged 64 at that time, Vajiralongkorn became the oldest Thai monarch to ascend to the throne.
'KING OF LIGHTNINGS'
Who lived (still lives) on the shores of Lake Starnberg. It's not just the wealthy of Bavaria and Munich. Elisabeth (Sissi), empress of Austria and queen of Hungary, Croatia, and Bohemia, spent her teenage years at Possenhofen Palace until she married the emperor Franz Joseph in 1854 at the age of seventeen. King of Bavaria, II. Ludwig was deposed in 1886 by a report of "psychological disability" by the doctors' committee and exiled to Berg on the shore of Lake Starnberg. His body was found in the lake a short time later. The end of the king, who abandoned his people and left huge debts behind, was sad like every human living in the world of dreams...
When Thai king Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X.) gets bored in Tutzing, he closes the famous hotel Grandhotel Sonnenbichl in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, on the Austrian border, at the foot of the 3,000-meter-high Zug Mountain, with a view of the Alps. Of course, King Ludwig is staying in his suite! One of those who preferred this charming city of Bavaria was the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Sait, who used the villa he bought for 11 million brands in 1974 as a "second residence" until his death in 2020.
The following words in Thailand's royal anthem are striking: We are at the service of our king. Our life is at his command. Maha Vajiralongkorn means “King of Lightning”!
Notes
Father: Former King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej reigned for 70 years and held the title of longest-serving king in the world.
