Born on August 9, 1957, in Istanbul, Murat Günak is known as an automobile designer who contributed to promoting Turkey with his work in automobile design. Günak, whose father is a military doctor, moved to Germany at the age of 6 and returned to Istanbul after staying in Germany for 2 years.

After graduating from secondary school in Istanbul, Günak continued his education abroad in the industrial design department of an art school. After graduating, he worked in world-renowned companies such as Peugeot, Mercedes, and Volkswagen. After a successful performance at Volkswagen for a while, Günak was promoted to the head of the design department.
