Frankfurt Mayor dismissed by referendum: Who is Peter Feldmann?
It was alleged that Feldmann arranged a "high-paying job" for his Turkish wife, Zübeyde Temizel, who was the manager of a kindergarten run by an institution that funded the election campaign in 2018.
Feldmann, who rejected the accusations and the corruption case continued in Frankfurt, did not accept the dismissal decision of the city council, and it was decided to hold a referendum.
Of the more than 200,000 Frankfurters who voted in the referendum, 95 percent voted to remove the President from office.
Peter Feldmann was born on 7 October 1958 in Germany. He graduated from Frankfurt Ernst-Reuter-Schule in 1979. He worked at the Kibbutz in Israel. He studied political science at the University of Marburg until 1986.

Feldmann joined the SPD in 1974. He joined the Frankfurt city council in 1988 and was elected vice-chairman of his party's parliamentary group in 2004. On 25 March 2012, he was elected mayor of Frankfurt.
