The star, who stepped into Hollywood about 11 years ago, is seen as one of the few Indian actresses to have a place in Hollywood. Priyanka Chopra revealed for the first time in her 22-year career that she received equal pay with her male lead.
The Indian actress has brought up the issue of equal pay among actors before, saying, "I have never been paid equal wages in Bollywood. My male co-star was getting about 10 times what I was getting."
Priyanka Chopra was born on July 18, 1982, in Jhankard, India. The father of the beautiful actress is Captain Dr. Ashok Chopra, a doctor in the Indian army. Priyanka's mother is Dr. Madhu Akhauri. Priyanka, the daughter of a doctor family, wanted to be an actress.
She studied at La Martiniere Girls' School in Lucknow. She attended “Newton North High School” in Massachusetts and “John F. Kennedy” High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. She interrupted her education here and returned to India in 2000.
She later graduated from “Army Public School” in Bareilly city. She then studied at “Jai Hind College” in Mumbai.
Modeling in 2000, Priyanka Chopra won the first "Miss India" and then the "Miss World" contest. Priyanka was named Miss World 2000 for the year 2000.
