German SS general, also known as the Butcher of Prague: Who is Reinhard Heydrich?
Heydrich is one of the most ruthless and cruel anti-Semites that history has ever seen. Himmler, who first discovered him, took him into his service. The first thing he did was to establish a secret intelligence service. Thus, SD, which frightened even Hitler, was established.
His full name is Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich. He was born in 1904 into a cultured family, and his family was loyal to Kaiser Wilhelm. So much so that when the Kaiser abdicated in 1918 and the social democrats took over the government, his father reacted very strongly to this.
The chaotic environment that dominated Germany after the First World War deeply affected Heydrich's thoughts. He decided to fight against the Communists and Socialists. He joined the pan-German national youth union in Halle. But the environment here disappointed him. This street politics was not for a well-educated young man like him.
Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich (7 March 1904 – 4 June 1942) was a high-ranking German SS and police official during the Nazi era and a principal architect of the Holocaust.
Thereupon, he joined the naval forces in 1922 and became a naval lieutenant in 1928. His fondness for women caused him to leave the Navy in 1931. In 1929, his fiancée Lina, who was a member of the NSDAP, persuaded him to become a member of the party as well. During his interview with Himmler, Himmler told him: “I want to establish an intelligence service for the SS and I need a suitable man. If you think you can do this job. Write how you would do this in 20 minutes. ”
The plan prepared by Heydrich fascinated Himmler. So Heydrich set to work building his SD. Heydrich was officially appointed head of the SD on 22 April 1934. Heydrich, who was constantly promoted, became the head of the RSHA (Reich Security Centre). After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, he became Protector of Czechoslovakia on 27 September 1941.
By following a very good strategy, he gained the support of the local people and increased production. So much so that the Czechoslovak government was in exile and the British organized an operation to disrupt this German-Czech alliance. Although Heydrich managed to survive the assassination attempt against him, he was overcome by his passion and attacked the assassins with his gun drawn. In the meantime, he was seriously injured by a hand grenade that exploded near him, and he died in the hospital a week later. (27 May 1942, day of assassination, 4 June 1942, day of death)
Notes about
Born in 1904, Heydrich was 1.82 meters tall. He had a long, thin face and a thin nose. His lips were tight and thin, his jaw was hard and bony, all these physical features show that he was a typical northerner.
In fact, the fact that this brutal German, who had a quarter Jewish blood, had a completely Aryan type was a great chance to realize the ideals he had created in his mind. Although the records of her birth year were falsified, it was later determined that her grandmother was a Jewish woman named Sarah. However, it is certainly a terrible contrast that Heydrich was the most ruthless and brutal anti-Semite that history has ever seen.
Although Heydrich, a former naval officer, was dismissed from the German Naval Forces with dignity, he was not upset at all because he knew that he could rise quickly and easily among the Nazis. He was a dedicated and organized man, an intelligent and ruthless killer. When the day came and the arrows showed themselves, Heydrich would be an invaluable blessing for Hitler's crazy empire.
