The Weill-Goodman duo played an important role in Rocco's transition to professionalism. The famous boxer, who stepped into professionalism in 1948, attracted all the attention of this heavyweight with successive victories.
Defeating famous boxer Joe Louis in October 1951 helped him solidify his position. Faced with Jersey Joe Scott, who later became the heavyweight title holder, Marciano managed to defeat his opponent twice in the same year.
By September 23, 1952, the new Heavyweight title holder was now Rocky Marciano. From 1952 until 1956, when he quit boxing, he left the ring victorious every time. Fighting Archie Moore in 1956, Rocky announced that he had ended his boxing career after winning this tough match.
Saying goodbye to the rings unexpectedly, Rocky did not turn from his decision despite all his efforts. The life story of the famous boxer was one of the most important materials for Hollywood screenwriters in the 1970s and 1980s. The filmed "Rocky" series made Sylvester Stallone famous.
