Manchester United's legendary left wing: Who is Ryan Giggs?

After ending his football career, he again served as assistant coach at Manchester United, and after 2018, he served on the technical staff of Wales until June 2022.

Giggs, who played for Manchester United for 23 years, contributed to 13 league titles and two Champions League titles.

He started his coaching career after David Moyes was fired in the 2013/14 season. Afterwards, he served as assistant to Louis van Gaal, who replaced Moyes, for two years.

Ryan Joseph Giggs (born 29 November 1973) is a Welsh football coach, former player and co-owner of Salford City. Regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation, Giggs spent his entire professional career at Manchester United, where he also served as the club's interim player-manager and assistant manager. He is one of the most decorated footballers of all time, and is one of only 44 players to have made over 1,000 career appearances.

Giggs, who became Wales coach in January 2018, helped them qualify for Euro 2020. Wales, which last took part in the World Cup in 1958, has not been able to participate in any major tournament since then.

Ryan Gigs resigns as Wales National Team coach

Gigs was arrested in November 2020 on charges of violence against his ex-girlfriend but was released on parole. Gigs denies the accusations of violence and threats made against him.

Following these accusations, Gigs' assistant Robert Page temporarily took over his duties. In Gigs' absence, the team qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1958.

In his written statement, Gigs stated that he took the decision to leave his job for good after thinking for a long time, and said, "It was an honor and a privilege to manage my country. However, it would be right for the federation, the technical team, and the players to prepare for the tournament precisely, clearly, and without any speculation about the situation of their coaches."

Previously, Gigs' marriage and the British press were shaken by big news:

It was revealed that they were having an affair with his brother Rhodri's wife, and as a result, both families' homes were destroyed.

After being appointed as Wales coach, Ryan Giggs' father, Danny Wilson, made the following statement:

"I should be the happiest person in the world right now, but I can't. Instead, I feel ashamed."

Giggs, who dated his brother Rhodri's wife Natasha in 2015, seems to have become rightfully hated by his family.
