In 1978, he brutally murdered and raped Florida State University students Lisa Levy and Margaret Bowman and fled the scene without being seen by anyone. This was the last incident that led to his capture. When Bundy was captured and the trial began, he defended himself and did so very successfully. It was a bite on the victim's buttocks that led to his capture. According to the expert report, it was determined that the bite completely matched Bundy's teeth, and the jury decided to execute Bundy.
