Veronica Roth is an American writer born in 1988. She is the author of the bestselling novels Divergent and Insurgent, which were later adapted into films.
Veronica Roth read books endlessly in grade school, but she never thought she could write anything herself until her mother bought her a “make your own book” kit. She realized then that she would always write throughout her life, whether it was published or not.
She wrote the first draft of the story that would later become Divergent in her spare time while attending Northwestern University. In 2010, she graduated from the English Literature department of the same university with high honors in creative writing.
Veronica Anne Roth (born August 19, 1988) is an American novelist and short story writer, known for her bestselling Divergent trilogy which has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.
She is a board member of YALLFest, the largest young adult book festival in America. She lives in Chicago with her husband and her dog, Avi, whose adorable life is showcased on Instagram.
